STUDIO

The emBODY Studio is the training wing of emBODY project, where performers, emerging artists, and educators train in the emBODY Performance Method.
Studio classes use embodied storytelling, consent-forward practice, and a justice-centered lens to build freedom, presence, and authenticity in performance.
This is the place to look for current and upcoming classes, intensives, and
teacher training workshops

Training for freedom, presence, and authenticity.

The emBODY Studio is the home of our training and practice, where the emBODY Performance Method meets the room.

Here, classes, workshops, and residencies take shape through our core values of embodied storytelling and the pillars of freedom, presence, and authenticity. The Studio uses body culture centered training, physical theatre, and ensemble-based exploration to help artists:

  • Develop technical and embodied skills rooted in their own lived bodies.

  • Recognize and disrupt habitual patterns that limit expression and choice.

  • Deepen the connection between thought, sensation, and action in performance.

This is where the work takes root.

The emBODY Studio is both a training ground and a creative home, offering artists a space to connect, unlearn, experiment, and return to the body as the source of story, power, and possibility.

Foundations in emBODIED Storytelling

Foundations in Embodied Storytelling introduces young artists to the core tools of presence, physical awareness, and creative risk. Through games, exercises, and short composition activities, students learn how breath, posture, gesture, and voice support clear, honest storytelling onstage. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to move.

Young Artist Intensives

Young Artist Intensives are short, focused labs held during school breaks and summer. Each intensive dives into a specific theme or skill set, such as ensemble-building, movement for character, or creating original short pieces from lived experience. Intensives are designed to give young artists a concentrated dose of training and creation time in a supportive studio environment.
