WHERE THEATRE MEETS INQUIRY
emBODY project theatre is a research-driven performance and training company grounded in the emBODY Performance Method. We practice consent-forward, embodied storytelling and justice-conscious collaboration, centering freedom, presence, and authenticity as we explore body culture and individuation toward collective liberation.
our story
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Theatre is a living, breathing act of presence.
emBODY project grew from a question that would not let us go:
What if we built theatre from the body’s truth first?
From the histories it carries, the cultures it moves through, the stories it has never been allowed to tell.
Born from the emBODY Performance Method, created by Corinne M. Mason,
our work treats the body as a site of knowing.
Not just something that performs, but something that remembers, resists, and reimagines.
We imagined a space where stories are not only told, but felt.
Where the body becomes a vessel for truth, and performance is a shared act of liberation.
Not just a venue, but a home where artists and audiences meet in authenticity, vulnerability, and joy.
A gathering ground for diverse voices, art forms, and cultural expressions,
where collaboration sparks bold, embodied narratives that reflect and reshape our world.
Here, we move with intention.
We listen with our whole selves.
We practice freedom by loosening the scripts that confine our bodies.
We cultivate presence by returning, again and again, to breath, sensation, and each other.
We pursue authenticity by honoring the lived experiences that make each story distinct.
Because theatre is more than what happens on stage.
It is the freedom to be seen,
the courage to connect,
and the radical act of showing up in true presence, in our bodies, together,
with as much authenticity as we can carry into the room.
