Most theatre asks you to witness something. You buy a ticket, you sit down, you watch, you leave.

The art happens to you from a distance and then it’s over.

emBODY Project Theatre was built on a different premise entirely. We are not a destination you visit. We are a destination you belong to. The artists who make the work, the students who train in the studio, the researchers who run the lab, and the audiences who fill the room are not separate categories of people. They are the same community, moving through the same space, held by the same method, doing the same essential thing: figuring out what the body knows and what becomes possible when it is finally given room to move.
emBODY Project Theatre is a queer woman-owned and operated physical theatre company. We exist at 95 Washington Street in Canton, Massachusetts, and we are in our founding season. This is an invitation to make that foundation real.
