Service Description

Stage Combat Knife Certification Mondays · 7:00–9:00PM · 120 minutes · 18+ · 25 spots (Testing Days December 18 & 19) Instructor · Sarah Flanagan PRICING Pay-It-Forward Rate: $650.00 Standard Rate: $600.00 Access Rate: $550.00 ABOUT Hosted by Fights by Flanagan, participants will learn both the core principles and the newest techniques for the performance of dramatically effective armed stage combat. This intensive covers 30 hours of technique training in stage combat knife, building the skills and precision needed for safe, dynamic weapon work on stage. Most importantly, participants will learn how to approach theatrical violence from a place of physical and mental safety, while still making room for exciting, dynamic, and effective acting in scenes of conflict. At the end of this course, participants will perform a choreographed fight scene, which will be filmed and made available for use in professional reels. This intensive fulfills all requirements for a Knife Skills Proficiency Test with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). Participants may opt in to having their fight scene adjudicated by an SAFD Fight Master. The SAFD adjudication/test is optional and requires an additional fee, $60.00, paid directly to SAFD. If you're unable to attend a session, you can attend a Sunday Open Gym to get caught up on what you've missed. You must accrue all 30 training hours to be eligible for SPT adjudication. The SAFD is an internationally recognized training organization dedicated to promoting safety and fostering excellence in the art of stage combat. Visit https://safd.org/faq/ for more information.
