What happens when the devil doesn't need to seduce you, because the world already has?

emBODY Project Theatre's ensemble adaptation of the Faust myth drops the sulfur and keeps the structure. A genius. A weapon. A contract with something that speaks the language of institutions. FAUST: Pacts, Power, and Embodied Desire investigates the specific American hunger to be equal to the force pulling the strings, built through original movement, ensemble ritual, and a cast of voices that live both inside and around our protagonist. This is a meditation on what we sacrifice when we stop being willing to say no, and what it looks like when the system finally collects.

Arrive early. Doors open at 7:00 PM, and guests are welcomed into an evening gala featuring classical vocal performances by Lee Ellis and complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks before the show begins.

FAUST is not an immersive performance, but the actors inhabit the full space, including the audience area. You will be in the room with the work.

Noel Connelly, COMPLIANCE (Bad Angel analogue) + Chorus

Sabrina Nedder, THE AGENT (Two-Headed Mephistopheles) + Chorus

(she/her/hers) Sabrina Nedder is a Boston-based actress, dancer, and teaching artist. She received her Associates Degree in Theatre Arts from Massasoit Community College and is continuing her education with the goal of attaining a BFA in Theatre Arts at Salem State University. She has also completed 10 years of training at the Summer Stage Theatre Program. Sabrina has performed for over 20 years and has worked with various companies including Massasoit Theatre Company, Summer Stage Theatre, and Bay Colony Performing Arts. She has taught and directed at the Summer Stage Theatre Company for six years and has directed several one-act plays. Currently, she is continuing her teaching and directing work at Summer Stage Theatre Company.

Lauren Vanderwater, THE AGENT (Two-Headed Mephistopheles) + Chorus

(she/her/hers) Lauren Vanderwater is a life long performer, who is always looking for new ways to grow her creative inventory. She is an artist that strives to bring people together through her art by starting conversations, and engaging the audience to try and make them feel like they are more than just observers. Through this mission, Lauren hopes to use her knowledge of movement and body language to help educate and inform others of the great importance that is knowing and learning the body, and why it is so impactful and necessary when it comes to performance.

Corinne M Mason, emBODY Method Founder & Artistic Director

(She/Her/Hers) Corinne M. Mason is a professional director, choreographer, and teaching artist. She received her Master’s Degree in Theatre Education, from Emerson College, and a B.F.A. from The New School University. She also holds a Certificate in Musical Theatre from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Corinne has taught performing arts, directed, and choreographed with several companies, including Lyric Stage Company, Stonehill College, Wellesley Summer Theatre, The Company Theatre, MMASBlackBox, Cambridge Youth Dance Program, and North Cambridge Family Opera. Currently, Corinne serves as a Theatre Faculty Professor, at Massasoit Community College. At the college, she teaches Choreography, Dance, Dramatic Literature, Movement for Acting, and Design for the Theatre. She also serves as advisor for The Practical Theatre Ensemble, which focuses on the practical application of theatre studies into rehearsal practice.

Corinne is passionate about the development of new plays and the art of collaborative creation. She believes theatre has the potential to promote empathy, understanding, open dialogue, and reflection for both participants and audiences alike, and strives to infuse these values in every project she takes on. Over the past few years she has directed and choreographed several original productions including, The Werewolves (Manhattan Repertory Theatre), Les Nuls (Artists from Suburbia), Trial of Madeline Gee, Eris’ Chain (Massasoit Theatre Company), Winter People, Queen of Sad Mischance, Autumn Cross, and We Will Not Describe the Conversation (New Works Play Festival).

CORINNE M. MASON WEBSITE

Lauren Vanderwater, Technical Director

(she/her/hers) Lauren Vanderwater is a life long performer, who is always looking for new ways to grow her creative inventory. Steven Harrington, Lighting Designer

(he/him/his) Mr. Harrington has a depth of experience in multiple aspects of theater Design Including Sound, Lighting and Electrics. Mr. Harrington spent 2 years at Massasoit working closely with Corinne Mason on a variety of projects including as Lighting Designer for the Trial of Madeline Gee in 2017 and later for Eurydice in 2022. After Massasoit Mr. Harrington went on to receive a BA in Theater from UMass Lowell where he worked as a designer and technician on Multiple Projects. Mr Harrington is currently the Technical Director for Westwood High School. (Resume and Extended Credits Available Upon Request)

Nicky Carbone, Stage Management Mentor

Stage Management Mentor and CCT Liaison. Nicky worked for a decade as an equity production stage manager in the Greater Boston area with various companies including Wheelock Family Theatre, Reagle Music Theatre, Moonbox Productions, Lyric Stage Company, and more. Nicky has also worked as a stage management mentor with the Massasoit Student Ensemble, and emBODY Project Theatre for the past 8 years. Nicky is committed to supporting emBODY’s mission of creating safe and consent forward spaces for performers and production artists alike, working to help foster a space for creative freedom, presence, and authenticity.
